Now in its 33rd year, the Cork Jazz Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the Irish festival calendar & is recognised as a significant Jazz event on the world music stage. Every year, hoards of people flock to the city of Cork to experience this annual event which over the years has played host to some of the most famous jazz musicians such as Ella Fitzgerald, Cleo Laine, Sonny Rollins and Oscar Peterson.
This year's Cork Jazz Festival promises to be as entertaining as ever. Traditionally held across the October bank holiday weekend, Cork city becomes electrified with soulful and infectious melodies floating out of pubs and venues across the entire city & county of Cork. During the day, soak up the atmosphere as you wander through the city to the beat of the street musicians who have descended on Cork from every corner of the world. At night, prepare to face the tough decision of which performance to enjoy, from traditional to offbeat, Cork Jazz Festival has it all.
Although jazz performances are delivered by over 1000 musicians in 80 venues citywide, the main venues for jazz concerts are:
