Game on with American Football!

Game on with American Football!

After the resounding success of the Notre Dame V Navy American Football game in 2012, Dublin is delighted to be hosting The Croke Park Classic again this year and will welcome the University of Central Florida and Penn State to the hallowed national stadium.

With a seating capacity of over 80,000, Croke Park is expected to welcome UCF and Penn State fans in their droves, along with local fans who are delighted with the opportunity to witness American Football first hand and will gladly adopt the famous sport as their own for the big day out on August 30th.

The much lauded game is expected to be a sell out, opening the season for UCF and Penn State and for both teams, it marks a maiden voyage to play outside of the US.

The University of Central Florida V Penn State game is the ideal pivot around which to build a trip to Ireland. Make the most of the journey and spend pre or post match days investigating the evocatively titled Wild Atlantic Way or indulging in a short trip to the South West.

A mere 2.5 hour drive (260KM/161 miles) from Dublin, Hayfield Manor is ideally located as a southern base for an extended trip around the UCF V Penn State football game.

With our beautiful sister property, the Killarney Royal Hotel, to visit in Kerry and a wealth of local attractions to choose from in Cork including Blarney Castle, the Titanic Museum in Cobh, the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, Cork city, and Kinsale, it is definitely worth the short spin from Dublin. Our dedicated team is on hand to recommend itineraries around Cork and Kerry.
