Karen FlemingKaren holds an honours degree in Hotel & Catering Management from GMIT. In recent years she complemented her educational achievements by graduating top of her class with a first class Masters in Management & Marketing from neighbouring UCC.
A passion for travel has granted Karen the opportunity to combine career and culture with many years spent working in reputable and award winning establishments both at home and abroad.
Upon relocating back to her native Cork in 2010, Karen was delighted to join the team at Hayfield Manor. A love of meeting people and a genuine desire to provide guescts with an exceptional service encounter makes Hayfield the ideal work environment. Karen considers it “an inspiring experience to work in such a beautiful property and with a team of like-minded hospitality enthusiasts”.
Karen began her journey at Hayfield Manor as Breakfast Supervisor. She then went on to become Assistant Restaurant Manger of Orchids Restaurant followed by Operations Manager. It wasn't long before Karen became Assistant Hotel Manger which led her to her current role of Sales & Marketing Manager the past 3 years.
John BurchillJohn is from Guileen, a very small village in East Cork, just outside Whitegate. He went to school in Midleton and is now currently completing his final year of college in Cork Institute of Technology where he is studying a Bachelor of Business Degree in Culinary Arts. He will finish his studies in May and the celebrations of the big graduation day will take place in October!
John joined the team at Hayfield Manor back in 2013 where he began his journey as a bartender in the Manor Bar. He then moved into the very busy kitchen where he spent 9 months and following this he spent some time in Perrotts Garden Bistro. He is now in his current role as Duty Manager for just over one year now and is doing an excellent job! At just 21 years old, John has already achieved tremendous success throughout his career and studies.It is a pleasure to work with John as he always brings a positive attitude to work.
Algis PetrauskasAlgis is a native of Lithuania and made the journey to Ireland in September 2010. He settled into life in a new country very quickly as he had previously lived in Norway for a brief period of time. Luckily for us, Algis’ first job in Ireland was at Hayfield Manor where he began his work journey as a Kitchen Porter before making the transition to food service where he assumed the role of waiter in Orchids Restaurant, Perrotts Garden Bistro and The Manor Bar! He has recently progressed to the Front Desk at Reception where he is doing a fantastic job at greeting guests and ensuring everyone is welcomed and made feel at home. Algis has a very positive attitude towards life and his work. He says that he appreciates every opportunity to learn and that one of the most important things is being dedicated to moving along in life.

Jordan studied Hospitality at Granger Bay Hotel School in Cape Town. On the 4th July 2012, he commenced his internship at Hayfield Manor. He was initially hired to the position of waiter in Hayfield Manors signature restaurant, Orchids. A keen eye for attentive service and an excellent rapport with guests & colleagues alike ensured that a promotion to a supervisory position was awarded within a commendable three month period.
In January 2013 Jordan’s internship ended and he returned to his native South Africa. After a brief interlude abroad, Jordan was excited to return to Hayfield Manor in September 2013 to accept the position of Duty Manager. Jordan’s passion for hospitality and dedication to exceeding expectations resulted in further promotion. As Restaurant Manager, Jordan is now at the helm of our beautiful signature restaurant, Orchids.

Ieva UrbutyteIeva a native of Lithuania made the journey to Ireland to visit her brother 10 years ago. She quickly fell in love with the culture & lifestyle of Cork which resulted in Ieva packing her bags to make Cork her new home.
Luckily for us, Ieva’s first job in Ireland was at Hayfield Manor. She began her work journey in housekeeping before making the transition to food service. Her passion for hospitality and dedication to exceeding expectations resulted in further promotion to breakfast manager of Orchids. This year marks Ieva's 11 year work anniversary for which we are very honoured to have such a dedicated long serving employee.

Rory hails from the hills of Donegal and began working in Hayfield Manor while he was studying in Cork. Rory has been working in the hospitality industry for over a decade where he assumed his first role at the age of 14. He has a true passion for the industry and enjoys every minute of his work. Rory worked in The Manor Bar for 3 years and quickly became a very talented and hardworking Bar Tender as well as being extremely popular among guests. His excellent skills, knowledge and passion for his work has now led him to make the move to our sister property, Great Southern Killarney, where he is now Assistance Bar Manager at Brownes Bar.
