September is a great month to visit Cork as it is festival central throughout the month with plenty to see and do.
The Cork Opera House has a delightful selection of events coming up for the month of September. Enjoy an evening with Sharon Shannon, Frances Black and Mary Coughlan as they bring a unique show to Cork performing their greatest hits. These three successful female Irish artist will perform on September 12th 2018. Grammy award winning international music legend Leo Slayer will perform in Cork Opera House on September 16th bringing some of his greatest hits to the Cork stage. From September 8th to 22nd, Cork Opera House will welcome the Abbey Theatre Production of Jimmy’s Hall which is bursting with music, song and poetry and is set to be a fantastic show.
The Everyman Theatre also has a great host of events for September with Frankie’s Guys- a celebration of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons on September 8th and The Ocean Film Festival taking place on Friday 14th September.
For any food lovers, The Taste of West Cork Food Festival takes place from the 7th-16th September and features markets, dinners, demonstrations and much more to showcase a wonderful mix of food. The Cork Oyster and Food Festival is on from 21st-23rd September and will see love music and food trails across Cork city. The Riptide Movement and Declan O’Rourke will also be performing and the festival will culminate with the Jazz Lunch on September 24th.
With average highs being 18 degrees and average lows at 10 and some rain forecasted for September we live in hope that our summer will last a little longer this year and continue into the month of September long enough to enjoy all the great events being hosted here in the vibrant Cork city.
