The bank holiday weekend is almost here, and with it comes what is probably the highlight of the Cork calendar, the Jazz Festival. There is an unbeatable atmosphere in Cork the whole weekend, and I love wandering round the city with the strains of upbeat jazz music courtesy of talented street performers. As far as festivals go you have to hand it to the organisers, it's a great one, and all embracing - you won't just find jazz performances in the majority or bars and venus, but you can also enjoy jazz photography exhibitions in The Cork Vision Centre, a record & CD fair, and a Big Screen on Patrick Street to make sure the festive mood remains for the whole weekend.
Here at Hayfield Manor, we are embracing the Jazz with two performances over the weekend - from 1p.m. to 3p.m. on Saturday, and from 11a.m. to 4p.m. on Sunday. Why not call in for a coffee and scone, and the strains of jazz to entertain you. Or try our Cocktail of the Month, "Jazz Trio" a mix of Bacardi, Blue Curaco and Lemon Juice. As the October Weekend is renowned for it's rainy weather, we guarantee you'll be cozy next to our blazing fires.
As jazz is not to everyone's taste, we've kept our evenings Jazz Free, instead entertaining our guests with our resident pianist.
Whatever you get up to for the weekend, enjoy it! And don't forget the umbrella!
