Christmas Lights in Cork

Being obsessed with all things Christmas, I'm really excited about the Christmas Lights being switched on in Cork city tomorrow evening! There have been some really positive changes to Cork city over the last few years, the result being that we are now lucky enough to be living in a very attractive and contemporary city. However, nothing can beat the sight of the Christmas lights the length of Patrick Street and on the shop fronts. There's just an all-round better atmosphere when the lights are on, with people looking forward to Christmas, it all seems more real somehow!

This year, the lights are being switched on at 5p.m., which also coincides with the launch of 'Christmas on Grand Parade', a Christmas Village which is in operation for every weekend from now until Christmas. The lights are being switched on by Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Dara Murphy. Lets keep the fingers crossed the rain holds off, but Irish people don't ever let the rain hold them back from a good time!
