Yesterday, the team at Hayfield Manor descended on the campus of our neighbours UCC, armed with brownies and a positive attitude. We wanted to do our bit to help raise funds for devastated Haiti, and we needed help to do it.
Our chefs baked up a storm to prepare hundreds of delicious brownies - and believe me when I say Delicious! Several of the Hayfield Manor team set up station and sold the brownies for €2 each - a steal by anyone's reckoning! And thankfully the hungry masses agreed, with all stocks completely sold out by 2p.m! The generosity of the staff and students of UCC was overwhelming, with so many people handing over money to the cause, even when all that remained of the brownies were a few lonely crumbs.
To help boost takings, we offered a raffle prize of Champagne Dinner for 4 in Perrotts Garden Bistro, which was a huge success. We'd like to extend a big thank you to Pat Cotter and his team of security men who gave their time to visit the offices of UCC to give people a chance to donate who could not make it out to the stand. Congratulations to Bridget Ryan, the lucky winner of this great prize.
So many people put hard work and effort into this fundraising event, and we would like to thank UCC for permitting us to collect on the campus, as well as the Hayfield Manor team members who gave up their free time to collect on behalf of Haiti.
And, I'm so happy to report that the grand total we collect was......... €4,588!!!!!
We are absolutely blown away by peoples generosity, and glad that this money will make a real difference to the people of Haiti.
A big big Thank You to all who took part, and in particular to those who donated to the fund.
