Hayfield Manor is a member of the Good Food Ireland network, and is proud to support local producers, with fresh local ingredients the cornerstone of our delicious menus.
People want to support local industries, but can often be unsure where there dinner has been sourced! That is where Good Food Ireland can help - by indentifiying under a single brand umbrella the restaurants, cafes and hotels that use locally sourced goods in their kitchens.
Last night, the cork members of Good Food Ireland came together to launch the beginning of our first Good Food Ireland Cork Week, a week dedicated to raising awareness and generating interest among the people of Cork in the Good Food movement.
The launch was held in Cork's English Market, and although the RSVP list indicated that the numbers would be 300 people, there was closer to 500 people through the doors on the evening! All particiapting restaurants took it in their stride, and we managed to feed everyone with delicious tasters of some of our signature dishes - all produced with locally sourced ingredients of course!
Lord Mayor of Cork Clr. Dara Murphy was in attendance and kindly said a few words, as well as the DIrector of Failte Ireland John Concannon, and Peter Ward, seasoned member of Good Food Ireland and a great ambassador for promoting Irish Food.
All this week, participating restaurants are offering a Good Food Ireland plate, where you can enjoy a delicious meal with a glass of wine. Visit Perrotts Garden Bistro at Hayfield Manor to sample out Pock Belly and Scallop dish all this week during lunch and dinner.
