Food Glorious Food

I think I've decided my favouite thing about the new look Patrick Street in Cork City - it's the wide space that allows for a host of food vendors to set up shop kerbside while pedestrians still have oceans of footpath to roam.

The Midsummer Festival drew to a close yesterday, having entertained the people and visitors of Cork for 3 weeks. The final street market of the event was installed in Patricks Street yesterday afternoon, and attracted the usual masses of people that a collection of eateries always will. Walking through Cork City yesterday afternoon, in the lovely balmy sunshine, I found I couldn't decide what to eat! Having had lunch before heading out, I found that the tantalizing aromas wafting around, not to mention all the people sitting around with delicious looking morsels made it impossible to choose between all on offer. Everything from vegetarian dishes, crepes, pizza, hot dogs, BBQ, chinese...... you name it you could probably have eaten it! And lets not forget the sweet contribution, with a selection of ice cream, fudge and homemade cake stalls peppered along the way.

After a delisious falafal wrap and the biggest cookie ever, I walked around town with a happy smile for the remainder of the day. Thank you Midsummer Festival! Until next year........
