Shirley was born in England before recollecting to Glanmire with her family at the tender age of 4 years of age. Being a people person by nature, Hotel work was always something which Shirley aspired to do and set her career in motion by studying Tourism in CIT. Upon graduating 4 years ago, Shirley commenced her placement in Hayfield Manor, where she instantly felt at home. Building a great relationship with both guests and her fellow team members, it was no surprise that she choose to stay at Hayfield Manor after her placement period was done. And glad we were to have her!
Having taken an initial role in The Manor Bar and subsequently gaining valuable experience in several areas throughout the hotel, Shirley settled into the her role as our Afternoon Tea Hostess at the beginning of the Summer. We take pride in the time honoured tradition of Afternoon Tea here at Hayfield Manor, so Shirley was the perfect ambassador to have greeting guests and ensuring they had a wonderful experience. Her warm and enthusiastic character helps create a rapport with guests from the moment they arrive, and she has become a favourite among guests whom she has the pleasure of welcoming again and again.
In her spare time Shirley enjoys exercising and soocialising, and nothing more than spending time with her identical twin sister Tanya. Please be warned - should you ever happen to meet either sister please do not be offended if you see a quizable expression on their faces following your greeting - quite often there is a case of mistaken identity and you may in fact be speaking with Tanya!
Shirley, Thank You for the years of loyal service & the wonderful attributes which you bring to the team!
