At a young age Charlene has already experienced such a full & vibrant life. Originally hailing from Dublin Charlene family relocated to the UK when she was two years of age. Two years later she moved back to Ireland to Limerick briefly and has since adopted Kinsale as her home. Although not keen to move to Cork initially, according to Charlene it was the best move she has ever made and she has long been won over by the Rebel County’s spirit & personality.

Charlene an avid student commenced studying Law, in DIT. Midway through university moved to an alluring course in Event Management in DIT. Not content with finishing her studies at a degree level, Charlene is continuing to study part time and is currently undertaking an MBS in Innovation in European Business in UCC. This has enabled her to enjoy a semester in the Institute Supérieur du Commerce de Paris (ISC Paris) and Hogeschool Utrecht University of Applied Sciences near Amsterdam in October.
Having worked in the hospitality industry at 18 Charlene never aspired to a continued a career in hotels. A vocation in service however resulted in an undeniable passion for the industry. In the summer of 2012, Charlene was initially hired for a waitress position in Perrotts Garden Bistro. Within a month she was given the opportunity to become a supervisor in the Bistro and within the year she was promoted to the role of Duty Manager where she has been working since.

She delights in experiencing every department on a daily basis. She loves meeting new people and continually exceeds customers’ expectations. According to Charlene it is how you take care of the little things that make a difference and she is a firm believer in attention to detail.

On her days away from Hayfield Manor Charlene spends her time working on her thesis. She loves the performing arts and has even performed in the Gaiety Theatre, The Olympia, The Everyman to name but a few. At work Charlene certainly provides the chefs with plenty of entertainment with her vocal talents & musical prowess.
As part of her continuing studies Charlene is off to Utrecht in the Netherlands, at the end of September for the final 3 month’ s of the MBS. We will certainly miss her, however she will be returning to the hotel the end of December to recommence her role here at Hayfield Manor.
