There are many new and exciting developments in Cork and they are almost all set to open for the 2017 summer season. The new developments and revamps will bring great excitement and wonderful entertainment for the people of Cork & Ireland but also the many visitors.
The Capitol is set to be an exciting new retail and office development located on the historic Capitol Cinema site. This development will transform Cork's shopping district while also welcoming new businesses to the city centre with office space for up to 350 people. The Capitol will have frontage onto both St. Patrick's Street and Grand Parade while also being located beside The English Market. The Oyster Tavern, which is a very important piece of Cork City's history dating back to the 18th century, is also being restored back its original use as a bar & restaurant. The Capitol is set to open in June.
Páirc Uí Chaoimh, the new state of the art stadium is almost ready to open its gates to 45,000 spectators. The stadium will showcase concerts, conferences and of course the best GAA matches which will all provide enormous entertainment for the people of Cork and visitors to the city. The stadium is preparing to welcome spectators for the first GAA match in the multi-purpose facility in July.
In other exciting news, the incredible Old Head Golf Links Course in Kinsale has opened for the 2017 season and there are some wonderful developments to be enjoyed, both on the course and in the clubhouse. The stunning par 5 sixth hole now features one of the most dramatic and spectacular green sites to be found anywhere around the world. It has been repositioned next to the original 16th century lighthouse and this immaculate surface now interfaces with history and provides magnificent 360 degree panoramic views across the headland and the Atlantic Ocean. The striking golf course is an spectacular experience for golfers and with the recent revamp, it undoubtedly offers a new sense of wow to all visitors.
